Recently, there has been a lot of hoopla about the benefits of of giving krill oil to dogs with cancer.  Let’s take a closer look. Facts reveal that giving krill oil to any dog with cancer could be dangerous and make the cancer worse.

Krill are tiny shrimp known as crustaceans or shellfish. They are a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids and the antioxidant, astaxanthin. Persistently high cancer rates in the European Union are thought to be the result of shellfish consumption, specifically shellfish incorporating diarrhetic shellfish poisoning toxins such as okadaic acid. A 2009 report from 73,224-participants in the Shanghai Women’s Health Study also found high shellfish consumption to be associated with increased risk of colorectal cancer.

Krill

Krill live next to icebergs and feast on algae and plankton. After they eat the plankton, they fill with feces. The extra weight of their feces causes them to dive to consume more plankton. Larger crustaceans such as shrimp contain an allergy causing protein called tropomyosin. This is the protein that triggers allergies. However the amount of tropomyosin in large shellfish such as shrimp is much less than the amount found in krill. As such, krill trigger far more allergic reactions than other shellfish. A dog with cancer has a weakened immune system, and no matter how rare, an allergic reaction such as this can cause more severe reactions in a dog with cancer than in a healthy dog.

Even if your dog is not allergic to tropomyosin, krill contain high amounts of flouride in their shell. Flouride is a toxic carcinogen. Because they are so tiny, shells from krill must be mechanically removed. No matter how much a manufacturer tells you that toxins have been removed, it is impossible to remove all of these tiny bits of shell. The first long term effects of this fluoride-containing shell is brown mottling of the teeth. Even worse, flouride is a cancer causing, tumor proliferating substance.

Dr. William Marcus, Senior scientist at the Office of Drinking Water, won over $250,000 from a whistle blower’s law suit against the Environmental Protection Agency over the fluoride cancer connection. He was fired in 1990 for telling the truth about fluoride and calling for an independent review board. “In point of fact, flourine causes more cancer death, and causes it faster than any other chemical.” (Dean Burk, Ph.D. former head of the National Cancer Institute’s cytochemistry section chief chemist emeritus at the U.S. National Institute.)

It is important for dogs with cancer to get enough essential fatty acids know as EPA and DHA. It is true that these fatty acids are easier to absorb with krill oil, however you must take a lot more krill oil to absorb the same amount of essential fatty acids than with fish oil.

Krill oil is filled with ocean pollutants and toxins such as mercury and other heavy metals. Despite what manufacturers tell you, krill oil is not free of these pollutants.

There have been thousands of studies of the benefits of fatty acids from fish oil, but few about the risks and benefits of krill oil. Krill oil is potentially dangerous and could possibly proliferate cancer. High quality fish oil is molecularly distilled and independent laboratory tests show it to be free of toxins that are found in krill oil. Krill oil costs much more than fish oil. About five times more.

If your dog has cancer you need to avoid adding additional toxins to their diet at all costs. Krill oil does not meet this criteria. It also does not mix well with other supplements such as CoQ10. Fish oil mixes well with these other supplements providing better absorption.

If your dog has cancer I strongly suggest that you remove any cancer causing chemicals from their diet. Krill oil contains cancer causing chemicals. High quality fish oil does not. In addition, fish oil provides more essential fatty acids which are beneficial in fighting cancer than krill oil does.

I recommend avoiding krill oil if your dog has cancer at all costs as it proliferates the growth of cancer cells. More research needs to be done on krill oil. This research has already been done on fish oil proving it does not accelerate cancer and is not toxic. Do not feed your dog with cancer krill oil if you want to give them the best chance for survival!

Chemo is poison, by design. It’s descended from deadly mustard gas first used against soldiers in World War I.

Studies as far back as the 1970s have linked increased rates of certain cancers to nurses and physicians. Occupational-health experts believe that’s because when nurses, pharmacists, technicians and, increasingly, even veterinarians mix and deliver the drugs, accidental spills, sprays and punctures put them in close, frequent contact with hazardous drugs.

A new study from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) — 10 years in the making and the largest to date — confirms that chemo continues to contaminate the work spaces where it’s used and in some cases is still being found in the urine of those who handle it, despite knowledge of safety precautions. Chemo agents have been classified as hazardous by OSHA since the mid-1980s. Hazardous drugs are those known or suspected to cause cancer, miscarriages, birth defects or other serious health consequences.

If veterinarians get cancer just by being exposed to these drugs, do you really want to put them in your dog’s body?

Mike Adams from Natural News TV explains in the video below.

There is little that can annoy me more than hearing about a dog with cancer that has gotten a vaccination. And it happens every day.

Please make no mistake about it. If your dog has cancer it is imperative that they never receive another vaccination. Not ever again for the rest of their life. There are clear warnings about this from the pharmaceutical companies who make the vaccines. Any vaccination given to your dog will further impair their immune system and greatly reduce their likelihood of recovery.

Now, you may be saying, “But where I live, the law says I have to get my dog vaccinated.” The fact is, in most jurisdictions, this only applies to healthy dogs. Where I live, I can get an exemption from vaccinating my dog if she is unhealthy. And the same is true in most jurisdictions. All I need to do is to get my vet to write a letter that says because of my dog’s health problem, she should not be vaccinated, and send it to the county. You can search the internet to find out what the animal vaccination laws are where you live. In most places, you will find the law allows the same exemption.

In cases where your vet wants to vaccinate you dog with cancer, or  refuses to give you a letter, you may want to consider getting a new vet. Here’s why.

Every dog vaccine has a statement on the label and in the package insert that says this, or something similar to it. “For the vaccination of healthy dogs against _______ (whatever the vaccination is for).” Well guess what? Your dog has cancer and because of this, is not healthy. According to the manufacturers instructions, vaccinations are not supposed to be given to unhealthy dogs!

Here’s another example in a rabies vaccination insert from a major pharmaceutical company. Under precautions it states, “This product has been shown to be efficacious in healthy animals.” This means it has NOT been shown to be efficacious in unhealthy animals!

It goes on to say, “A protective immune response may not be elicited if animals are incubating an infectious disease, are malnourished or parasitized, are stressed due to shipment or environmental conditions, are otherwise immunocompromised, or the vaccine is not administered in accordance with label directions.”

If your dog has cancer he/she is immuno-comprimised, and it is not safe to give him/her a vaccination.  And by definition, your dog is physiologically stressed because of the cancer.

I could go on ad infinitum about the potential and real dangers of vaccinations, not only for dogs with cancer, but for all dogs. I have a list of diseases that are caused by vaccinations in Dog Cancer: The Holistic Answer.

Just remember. If you dog has cancer…NO VACCINATIONS!

The glycemic index is a measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood sugar levels. High glycemic index carbs release glucose quickly into the bloodstream and glucose feeds cancer cells. Low glycemic index carbs break release glucose slowly into the bloodstream and are absorbed by other metabolic processes before cancer cells can feed on them.

The glycemic index is based on a scale of 0 – 100 with foods rated at 100 having the most rapid release of glucose into the bloodstream. Meats and vegetables have a low glycemic index, followed by grains which have a moderate to high glycemic index, followed by starches and sugars which generally have the highest glycemic indexes.

Dogs have a higher metabolic rate than humans. This means that higher glycemic foods break down even more quickly in dogs than people, significantly increasing the odds of tumors and cancer cells multiplying more quickly. So it’s crucial to feed your dog a low glycemic index diet if they have cancer. Cancer cells grow and thrive on sugar. Every time you feed your dog a meal with rice or oatmeal, their blood sugar skyrockets and the cancer cells have a feeding frenzy. It’s worse if you do this in every meal. The cancer cells know the sugar goodies are coming regularly. To stop the cancer cells from growing, it’s essential that you stop this.

In addition, grains and rice are acid forming foods. Individuals with cancer need to reduce acid because cancer thrives in acidic environments.

This means you must avoid all rice (brown rice included), grains (oatmeal included) fruits, potatoes, and processed sugar. The only exception to this would be if your dog is dehydrated from diarrhea. In that case, it would be acceptable to add honey as described in the formula for dehydration in Dog Cancer: The Holistic Answer.

Especially beware of the questionable marketing tactics on the internet, such as those who recommend any grains in your dog’s diet.  Also avoid soybeans and any products derived from soy such as lecithin, as this accelerates tumor growth and cancer cells. The bottom line is that if you are making food, or adding supplements which contain these ingredients, I strongly recommend that you stop feeding this to your dog immediately to give him/her the best chance of survival from cancer. Re-check to be certain that none of the supplements you are giving your dog contain such ingredients, especially lecithin.

Dogs in the wild eat no grains and dogs with cancer generally do better on diets with no grain. The one exception to this is if your dog with cancer is losing weight. In that case, brown rice may help to add more weight.

Try to stick with foods rated 40 or below on the index. Low glycemic dog food recipes can be found in Dog Cancer: The Holistic Answer.
